Breathe in until your lungs are full, making sure that your stomach has expanded outward. Exhale and expel as much air as possible. It is fantastic to release stress and anxiety. I remember the doctor telling me to do this and I thought - how it might help. You'd be surprised how much better you feel with some oxygen to your body! 2 Meditation
Meditation can be done just about anywhere quietly. 50-10 minute sessions are great for releasing tension. Close your eyes and visualize a place you love. This could be on the beach or the mountains, which are used to visit once in their life. Just imagine where the waves rolling, or taking in the beautiful view in front of you. It feels good to close your eyes and relax. You can even do it on your bathroom break!
3 Yoga
Yoga is an absolutely fantastic for the mind and body. Not only will it give you greater flexibility, stretching, moving assistance for the lubrication of joints, tendons and ligaments in your body. Studies have shown the effects of yoga on massaging the internal organs, it even helps in the detoxification process in the body. Perform a slow deliberate moves, has a calming effect on the mind.
4 Stretch
I love this one. Stretching can be done anywhere. Its a natural thing for us, when we were in a position for a long time. It reduces muscle tension, increases blood circulation, increases energy levels and gives us a better range of motion. Stretch after a long time in front of a computer or car.
5 Massage
Massage is an age old remedy to release tension and stress. Relaxing strokes to relax muscles and calm nerves, and it feels great. It is also good for getting rid of neck or back pain brought on by too much tension in the muscles during periods of intense stress and anxiety.
