Stress Management: Are You a Workaholic - Humorous View

As we celebrate yet another Labor Day, I thought it might be useful to look at work in our lives.

For some of us, work is a means to an end, for others it is a joy, and for still others it's like an addiction.

Dependence on the job called workaholism. One of the many interesting things about workaholism is that the most socially accepted addiction. We try to celebrate in our society to those who work too hard, without considering the many costs involved.

Humor is a way of cutting through our defense. So I thought I could take a humorous look at a serious topic, as a way of getting to you.

So, with the head of the comedian Jeff Foxworthy, here's a tongue-in-cheek view of workaholism called "Maybe if workaholic ....":

If your answering machine says, "kids are in bed, dinner in the fridge ', might be a workaholic.

If you kids call 911 when you get home before dark, it might be a workaholic.

If your business cell phone bill bigger than your house payment, may be a workaholic.

If Thanksgiving dinner the last meal you ate with your family, you might be a workaholic.

If your receptionist or secretary tells your spouse more than you do, you might be a workaholic.
